Try to stay calm. To control panic and fear, allow yourself to shake as much as possible for a short period of time, if it is safe to do so. Tap your thighs or shins to feel your body, press your heels into the floor. Don't show the occupiers that you are afraid, look slightly to the side, not directly into their eyes. Don't act humiliated: such signals can provoke aggression.
Maintain a restrained position, don't provoke. Don't resist, as this can make the enemy angry and hurt you.
Communicate with the enemy. Answer the occupier's basic questions: what is your name, where do you work? But say as little as possible when asked. And when the occupier starts asking you about the movements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces or asks other questions about our military, say that you are a civilian and have no such information. It's important to let them know that you don't understand anything about military affairs. You don't know the name of the equipment, for example.
If you are a member of a resistance movement, you should have a legend that you strictly follow. All your activities, your phone, computer, other gadgets, and your home should match it.
Follow the rules set by the kidnappers. Unless you have a clear reason not to do something (for example, it violates your personal dignity or for safety reasons), it is wise to agree to the demands made by your kidnappers. The main task is to survive. At the same time, try to follow the laws of Ukraine as much as possible and avoid attempts to force you to commit a crime.
