Transmitting important information about the enemy to the military using Telegram bots can raise suspicions among the occupiers when they check your phone. Therefore, after using these apps, you should "cover your tracks":
- If you have sent a photo or video to a bot, delete it from your phone and the trash.
- Turn off the sound of notifications: hold down the chat with the bot and click "Don't notify."
- When you're done using the bot, remove it from your chats.
For IOS: hold down the chat and select "Delete" -> "Clear chat history." The chat will be emptied, but it won't disappear. Therefore, next, click "Edit" in the upper left corner of the chat menu, select the chat, and click "Delete" in the lower right corner.
For Android: hold down the chat -> in the upper right corner, select ⋮ -> "Clear history." The chat will become empty, but it will not disappear. Therefore, hold the chat again and click on the trash can image at the top -> confirm "Delete chat."
But don't block the bot. During the inspection, the invaders can check the list of bots or channels you have blocked and find it there.
Clear the cache. Go to "Settings" -> "Data and storage" -> "Storage usage" -> "Clear all cache." Set up automatic deletion of media in private chats. Every application on your phone has a cache, and you can manually clear it in the gadget's settings.
Remove the mention of a chatbot from the search bar and "Recent Contacts" in Telegram. Click on the search bar to see a list of all channels and bots you have used. Tap on the bot you want and select "Remove from recent" from the pop-up menu. To clear the list completely, click "Clear" on the right side above the first chat in the list.
