The Ukrainian people have been fighting for freedom and independence for centuries. Songs have been an integral part of this resistance. In the “Songs of Strength” project, we talk about Ukrainian songs that are closely related to our struggle against the occupiers: cossack, rifleman, and insurgent songs with which the Ukrainian people went to battle against the enemy, as well as modern compositions that were born during our resistance to the Russian invaders.
